Amyloidosis

Question: Dear Dr Luc I love reading your blog. As a student of
homeopathy, I find that I can never learn enough. My question is, my
friend's husband has amyloidosis, the dr's told both of them that this is
a rare disease that only happens to Italian people. It is supposedly
attacking a protein in the liver, and he is losing muscular strength, so
the md that they went to is doing a study and put him on 2000 mg of
Ibuprofen. I would love to help him, but I don't know where to begin, not
only is the liver already compromised, but they are adding alot of wood to
fire by giving that amount of ibuprofen. Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you for your time,Grace
B1: Submit

==================================

Answer: THis is an disease in which an unusual protein accumulates in
various tissues. This tells you right away that sycosis is at work and the
chosen remedy needs to be an antisycotic. Its cause in allopathy is
unknown which always leads to palliative treatment. I am sure they already
checked out any other related disease like TB, R.A,etc Here too as in any
case, you must treat him as a patient with amyloidosis as each patient
present a different picture. Where is it located, what symptoms does it
cause? What happened in his life when it started? Any other symptoms of
sycosis showing? I am not sure why he would get ibuprofen at this point
except for decreasing the inflammation but you just treat it as any other
disease

Placenta

Question: Dear Dr. Luc, I have been hearing recently of a homeopath who
offers to take the placenta of a newly born child, and use it to make a
remedy to be used by the parent if the child in question should get ill.
Can you explain the implications of this, why it doesn't fit with
homeopathic practice, and discuss why someone might think it would work --
even if it won't? There seems to be a lot of confusion out
there, and I'd like to explain it as best as possible to interested young
parents. Thank you very much. Heidi in Santa Fe, NM

Answer: Dear Heidi
This what we call making a nosode but in no way has it been proven so the
indications for such intervention with such remedy are unknown. I would
like to hear myself why and for what it would be protective. I rather see
the mom breastfeeding and protecting the child the first 9 months with
colostrum against all microorganisms and creating a healthy colon
environment. There is never such a thing as one panacea, or broadspectrum
indication with one remedy unles obviously it is proven like al our
polychrests before.

VOG

Question: Aloha Dr Luc Thank you for answering my question about VOG. You
mention Sulphur as a remedy for vog induced conditions. Vog gases consist
mostly of Sulphur dioxide. Last year I wrote down all the pertinent
symptoms different people were experiencing and then looked up Sulphur in
the Repertory. I underlined 41 matching symptoms. Obviously a lot of
people experience sulphur symptoms. However , if we take Homeopathic
Sulphur wouldn't this be again Isopathy. ? Best wishes, Helga

Answer: Good question. But it is not isopathy because you are matching the
cardinal symptoms of VOG and match it to the proven remedy, which could be
Sulphur at this time. So make sure you have the cardinal symptoms to get
the "genus epidemicus." I like to see all these symptoms so I get a better
idea

VOG gases

Question: Aloha Dr Luc Here on Maui we are exposed to VOG: gases coming
out of Kilauea Volcano: 1700 tons of Sulphur dioxide per day, in addition
to some mercury and lead. At various times we experience different
symptoms, but almost always we get respiratory problems first, tiredness,
low muscle tone with incontinence, falling out of hair, etc Every child in
my son's class missed at least 2-3 weeks of school this last winter with
voginduced bronchial cough which never really goes away completely because
as soon as they got over their infection it gets voggy again and their
respiratory tract is irritated again. I am at my wits end, my son (SPD) is
sensitive to start out with and I would like to be better prepared for
this coming vog season. We have a remedy made by David Little , a
homeopath who has been practicing primarily in India in the last few
years. It is called Pele HI and was made from vog at the vent where it
comes out of Kilauea. It comes in different potencies. It works, but
people get sick over and over again. Since the composition of chemicals in
vog has changed since it was originally made, with a substantial increase
in Sulphur, shall we even give this remedy? What do you think about using
this remedy since we are working with 'the same substance' to treat. (If
the Pele HIdoesn't work we treat symtoms as they show themselves with
respective remedies).
However , overall it is quite frustrating trying to keep us healthy under
these circunstances and I am wondering if you have any new ideas? Best
wishes, Helga

Answer: Dear Helga! This is indeed a precarious siutuation as it induces
acute situations because of environmental factors (Aphoriosm 73, Hahnemann
calls it meteorological or telluric influences, sporadic acute diseases).
I know David Little and i have great respect for him. I can see he made a
nosode of this VOG condition and indeed this works sometimes although
thgis is more isopathy than homeopathy. Since moving away is not an
option, there are several things you can do or other people can do. For
instance in the case of your son: if you know his true constitution (not
the layer remedy) you can strengthen him with this constitutionnal remedy
outside of the season (now). It would be sufdficient to give him once a
month a 1M potency in water (and you can succuss each next time). A second
option is indeed what you say: you must treat the illness as it presents
with the indicated remedy. I am sure in many cases homeopathic Sulphur
could help. I even wonder if every year there is a slightly different
version: in that case we could treat it as an epidemic and get the
cardinal or main symptoms. Once they are known, these symptoms would
provide the indicated remedy. We do this every year with the flu epidemic.
If there is no change and one can determine the remedy in advance, then
one can give give a 200C of the "genus epidemicus" just before the season
starts (a 200C one dose a month would be enough) and this would be given
throughout this VOG season.

Acne-implants

Question: Dr. Luc I want to ask if it is possible that a remedy like
sulfur 30 taken for acne + other symptoms, can affect females that have
breast implants in negative ways. Either something is going on with my
breasts and implants and/or the remedy is waking up the dumbing effects of
the surgery. My mamogram is for another month but am worried that I should
do it sooner. I have never had one and am already 40. Now that I have
learned more about the body, I wish I had never gotten implants. By the
way, the sulfur did take my acne away with only one dose; later that week
(3 days) I
felt bumps again a took another dose on the 4th day, which has been taking
care of the problem for over 2 weeks now. Sure beat the hundreds of $
spent on face chemicals. Love you and miss you but am delighted you are
still looking after us
here. Maria
Answer: Dear Maria! Certainly sulphur has nothing to do with this and it
looks in fact it did a great job. I gues your operation was long ago and
not now..You really don't tell us what is going on symptom wise so it is
hard to comment on it...I am sure your mammogram will exclude everything
else.

Nosodes and Isopathy

Question: Dear Dr. Luc, I have been following your blog since the time
HSNC was closed and your blog started. Among all the struggles related to
raising a SNC, I make it a point to come back to this blog daily and peep
through to see if there is a new post. I have been doing homeopathy for my
son for last 4 years and seen many gains but I am still far from the onset
of a true recovery. I have a question to you regarding the new genaration
vaccination remedy. Often homeopaths are now using
remedies like Influenza Vaccine Remedy, MMR Vaccine Remedy etc. for
autistic kids. Their explanation is that this will remove the miasmatic
block. I would want to get your wisdom on this - do you think these
vaccination remedies can open up a case? Also What's the difference
between a nosode and these vaccination remedies? Best
Regards, Mukti

Answer: Dear friend Mukti! These are excellent questions! There is a
distinct difference between nosodes and the vaccination remedies you talk
abnout (Except Influenzinum which is a nosode). Nosodes are intercurrent
remedies and one of their functions (there are about 11 functions) is to
remove a miasmatic block. All these nosodes were wel proven over time and
are of absolute importance in the homeopathic practice. But when you start
giving MMR homeopathic or DPT as is happening now, this is more isopathy,
a technique that was not approved by Hahnemann. Granted we have more
vaccinations now but the homeopath must not therefore resort to isopathy
(the same cures the same, not similar, so not the expression of our basic
law)but the homeopath possesses many remedies for bad effects of
vaccinations, remedies which are all proven thoroughly so he possesses the
weapons to indeed lift a block if there is one. More often the right
remedy and alas even more often, the right management has not been done in
the case. Just one more point: a nosode wil almost never cure; it has to
be followed up wit the indicated remedy. As the nosode releaves the Vital
Force, more symptoms appear so the picture is clearer to prescribe on.

New Delhi Homeopath

Electroshock

Question: Dear Dr. Luc, A good friend of my has a family friend whose 17
year old son was just tragically electrocuted. A power line was hit by a
falling branch and the line hit the young man on the head, on the beach,
when he was attempting to put out the fire spotted there. The patient is
now hospitalized and in critical condition. I know I can help the grieving
parents who are in severe distress from the shock of this bad news with
Ignatia. But is there also a remedy I can suggest for the patient as well
- if they are willing to administer it while he is in the hospital and
beyond while he is recovering? I was having difficulty finding something
in the repertories for 'electrocution'. Can you please provide some
guidance on a remedy for such circumstances? Your wisdom is greatly
appreciated!

Answer: Very tragic indeed dear friend! The number one remedy by far for
electrocution as well for being struck by lightning is Phosphorus. I would
hope it is possible to give to this young man, and the higher the potency
the better (1M or 1000C would be best) and given every hour till recovery.
Even for after effects when he comes out of the hospital. Also remember
when a patient is in coma the remedy can stil be administered: it is
suffcient the remedy touches the mucosa.

I hope for your friend that her son completely recovers.
Warmest regards

Disc regeneration

Question: Disc regeneration with homeopathy: fact or fiction ? Dear
Dr.Luc, am just discussing with some colleagues the possibility of
regeneration in patients with chronic disc degeneration, and our opinions
are but quite different. Can disc replacement be avoided if the patient is
treated properly even if the degeneration is far advanced? Please, could
you let us know your personal opinion and experience
? Thanks a lot, Katja

answer: Dear Katja

I firmly believe it is possible as i have done it. It speaks by itself
that the degree of degeneration and the pressure built up plays an
important role but it is safe to say that 90% of such operations can be
avoided. Similar but not the same: MRI's in 87 showed I had a torn
meniscus medial and lateral in right knee which was very painful; (that's
what soccer can do to you!). But I treated it homeopathically and now we
are 2009 and I have done soccer, skiing, yoga and of course plenty of
tennis on hard courts. I have not checked with another MRI if my meniscus
regenerated but I don't need to know. I never had pain again and no
remedies since a long time (88) were necessary

One or more remedies

Question: Hi Dr. Luc, My son is 6 and has Autism. I recently took him to a
homeopath who has prescribed 3 drugs. Natrum Mur 4 pellets every
night(constitution) Cal Carb 4 pellets once a week on Sundays Belladonna 4
pellets once a week on Thursdays I remember reading somewhere that only
one medications should be prescribed at a time. Is the treatment regimen
above dangerous for my son. I certainly do not want to put him in danger
nor do I want to delay treatment with unnecessary medications. I
apologize, I do not know the exact strength of the medications as she
provides them in plastic, unlabled bottles.

Answer: It is hard for me to understand the rationale behind this
treatment but indeed you might raise the question with your homeopath.
True classical homeopathy is indeed the administration of one remedy as
the vital Force only gets confused by several remedies at the same time.
And even IF this would work, the homeopath really has no way of doing
further good management as he does not know what remedy is truly doing
the job. Let's not imitate allopathy in giving multiple drugs in order to
sustain a balance in the patient';s health. You might read my article on
my website (www.drluc.com) regarding "the choice of a homeopath."

Warm regards
