Children's Seizures and Homeopathy
Question:
"My 8 years old son has Rolandic epilepsy and facial motor and
vocal tics. Can homeopathy help?"
Answer:
This is a rather benign form of partial seizures in children (one
part of body, arm or leg or face may be affected), usually occurring at
night, starting in infancy or puberty. As any other illness we aim at
getting the specific characteristics from the child's picture coupled to
the family history (miasms).
In other words, we treat not the seizures but the patient with seizures. I
have treated seizure disorders successfully in the past and this case would
be approached like any other homeopathic case. In the case of your child,
I can see that indeed the partial seizures involve the face possible
leading to speech difficulties and tics. Certainly homeopathy can be
indicated. While the homeopath finds the remedy, he would not at first
stop any meds but only reduce them once he sees that the patient is
supported by the homeopathic remedy.
