Question: i am amazed to see this wealth of information on this blog , dr ,
i want to know childern of special need specially down syndrome have some
level of mental retardation and of course other physical problems , how
homeopathy can help these child for inclusion in mainstream and at what age
treatment should start and what are the chances of recovery

Answer: Special Need Children come in all forms and capacities on the
mental, physical and emotional level. While some indeed seem to be stuck in
their development intellectually, others, would exhibit an amazing memory,
capacity to tell stories, entertain others, etc....So indeed the proper
remedy always will guide the development of these children. This is never an
easy task for the homeopath. These children like others get acute diseases
during which the chronic needs to be suspended; they are even more sensitive
to what happens around them, and depending where their ego has evolved, have
proper tools or not to deal with new challenges. Especially difficult for
the homeopath is doing the management of children who are on biomedical
treatment (almost all of it) where they receive real drugs and supplements,
chelation, etc, all of which to what the child can react to with side
effects or die off symptoms. And the homeopath has to figure out how to
control all this with his remedy, which is often very difficult. And it is a
testimony to human nature and homeopathy that in spite of all that, results
can still be forthcoming.It speak by itself that treatment should start
asap, in fact treatment should start with treatment of both parents before
the conception!
