Hair loss

Question: Dear Dr. Luc Women being treated with homeopathy are usually very
concerned about their external beauty such as hair & skin. One such case
under a miasmic treatment (with Tuber. Bov and Iridium for Uterine
fibroids), is concerned with thinning/ loosing hairs. This is one of her
inherited tubercular miasm symptom.
In my opinion, the hairs being an external most element, will
automatically improve after the internal/ miasmic treatment. However,
patient with some knowledge of homeopathy insist on trying remedies like
potenzised Wisbaden (a mineral water from German springs), which is known
for hair. Do you think it is advisable to use such hair specific (probably
psoric & nutritional) remedies while the miasmic treatment is under
progress. How do you address women's such cosmetic concerns? Thanks

Answer: Dear friend Mukesh
You ask an intelligent question and answer it intelligently at the same
time. If there is hair loss in the patient (and we are not talking about
changing thin tubercular hair to coarse psoric hair) then this symptom
needs to be taken in account in the totality of the symptoms and the
selection of the remedy. As Hahnemann expressed, "the foot is not the
whole person, so is one symptom not the whole picture." For instance women
in a Sepia state lose hair as part of the picture which makes sense as it
is a remedy for stress and stress on the Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Adrenal
axis (HPA) and related in Chinese medicine to the Kidney element (adrenals
are part of this Element). I have no problems that patients would add for
instance a supplement like Silica (not the remedy!) to strengthen hair and
nails but nothing will be more helpful than the homeopathic simillimum. We
have many different remedies for "falling of the hair" each with their own
causality and expressions. That Water you mention: I would rather see
people use it as a supplement and not as a homeopathic remedy UNTIL it is
proven with excellent provings. Once you prepare a substance
homeopathically, many other expressions and indications will show (I know
you know that) and it will make the task of the homeopath much more
difficult as it can ent other unwanted symptoms to the picture. That would
imitate allopathy where we will promise you good hair and at the same time
create other unwanted side effects.

I think a "good hair day" lies in our soul and contentment of life as that
wil prevent hairloss in the first place!

With much respect
dr luc
