Boys and Girls!
Question:
Dear Dr Luc: I am wondering what the allopathic and homeopathic answer to
the question below is.
With regard to ADHD - why is this more prevalent in boys than girls?
And why are the girls more prone to exhibit attention deficiency without
hyperactivity while the boys more often display both?
Answer:
Good Question and Carl Jung comes to our help. We all know by now
that Men come from Mars and Women from Venus but Jung formulated that years
ago in a better way. Men's general dominant function of conscious is
THINKING, which means that the opposite function, FEELING remains in a
primitive place. In other words men approach the world with their mind not
their feeling as this is usually the weak pint of men. They are mostly
afraid of their feeling. This obviously leads to more aggressive domineering
behavior especially because the Animus in the shadow side is strong. Animus
the male symbol also stands for sword, aggression, power, control,
decisiveness, leadership, etc. Action! We should not be surprised to see
hyperactive behavior with it.
Women on the other hand have as their dominant function of conscious FEELING, and therefore approach situations with their feelings. Therefore thinking (concentration, learning) will be primitive (no ladies are more intelligent in general, but Feelings is how they approach the world... it leads to strong reactions when not understood. After all the anima stands for nourishment, feminine, nature, friendship, the unconscious, etc. So I am not surprised that these feelings detract from the attention.
Warm regards
