JRA

Question: Dr. Luc, I am generally unfamiliar with homeopathy but am willing to venture into unchartered territory. My daughter has juvenile arthritis and I came upon your site after Googling the search term 'detoxing your child.' What does detoxing a child from potentially harmful vaccines mean and ential? How does homeopathy work to treat juvenile diseases and do you think homeopathy may be of help in correcting my child's overactive immune system for example? What sorts of natural substances would I be putting into my daughter if I went down that road? Thank you and Best, Regina Coleman.

Answer: I am not sure how "detoxing your child" brought you to my site as this whole "detoxification quest' is often misunderstood by doctors and patients alike. But I certainly have treated JRA successfully (I am treating one child of 3 years of age right now, and the process is no different than for any other illness. In other words we try to recognize the patient with JRA, what is specific for your child, what might have triggered it (emotions!) and what the hereditary family background is (it HAS to be syphilitic, most likely on father's side since you have a daughter. Otherwise these children look at a lifelong treatment with methotrexate and cortisone for flare ups, giving so many side effects.
