Question: Dear Dr. Luc, My 6 year old son has been under homeopathic
treatment for approx three years. One of the biggest issues that I was
looking to resolve centered around my son's refusal to produce a bowel
movement. This is not what I think is the usual case of not wanting to poop
in certain circumstances/places nor is it a case where he was once 'okay'
and has now regressed due to some circumstance or stress. This boy simply
does NOT want his body to expel the stool. Every single time he gets an
urge, he will cross his legs, tighten his buttocks and resist until the urge
subsides. This can go on for days until he gets to the point where he
is 'leaking' stool into his underwear because he just can't totally hold it
anymore. We have to battle him constantly although I try not to turn it into
a battle---but he has only willingly and at the first urge taken himself to
the toilet and passed stool, perhaps, ten times in his whole life. Here's my
question: my homeopath seems to think that this is related to a sense of
arrogance on the part of my son....that he thinks he is 'above' this and not
someone who would do something filthy like that (pass stool). I do not agree
with this assessment since I don't see much evidence for it. So, here's my
own personal theory: My son had a very difficult birth culminating in an
emergency c-section. He swallowed meconium and it went below the vocal
chords which meant he spent his first three days of life without the breast

Answer: Indeed this is what we all want to know in such children: "what is
going on his mind? The Why and for what purpose?" The answer to this lies in
his fixed idea or Core delusion that has been created most likely intra
utero and at the birthing process as you mention. If it would be a sign of
arrogance then this has to be supported by other expressions on the mental
and emotional plane. I can't answer this since I don't know the rest of the
case but moms do know their children very well. So in order to get an answer
to that question (WHY?) it needs to fit other expressions of your child..the
true specifics of HIS case as not only the totality of symptoms but also the
predominant miasmatic state would give an answer...Unless I see the whole
picture one can only guess at his reason: Timidity? (opposite of arrogance)
Stubborness? Or indeed (and this is probably close) to the expelling and
swallowing of mecomium resulting in a fixed idea...This is very intriguing
to me as I had never a child doing this. I have enough children that are
constipated, refuse to go to the potty and want to wear a diaper for stool
but not for urination, etc., but not precisely this characteristic...As I
always explained, that fixed idea MUST fit in the rest of the story. If
arrogance does not fit the rest (this would be called a delusion of
grandeur) of his story then it is not the right interpretation. I wish we
would know more details but I hope you understand what I mean here
