Complicated Delivery/Pregnancy

Question:
This question is about a pregnant mom, with a planned C-section scheduled
at the end of December - assuming she does not go into labor first.

This pregnancy involves a placenta previa and the C-section has been
scheduled. The first pregnancy was also by C-section as an emergency
procedure, after many hours of labor and signs of distress in the baby at
the end.

This has been a rather exhausting and difficult pregnancy. There was
significant stress on the family, including surgery and hospitalization by
the father in the second trimester.

What homeopathic remedy(ies) will be of best for helping the mental and
physical health of both the mother and the baby, both pre- and post-
delivery?

What remedy(ies) will be best for speeding up the C-section recovery?

Thank you for your great wisdom, your compassion and the generous way you
share it with so many parents through your wonderful Blogs!

Answer:
There are still situations that remain unanswered at this point for some time. For instance: the
stress you mention that was imposed on the pregnant mother regarding hospitalization of the
spouse. It will be good to watch the development of this child during the first year to see what
influence these emotions (anxiety, fright, forsaken??) can have on the baby. But certainly the very first thing the mom needs to do for fast healing is to use Calendula 200C, daily doses in water which will prevent infection and speed up healing. We will have to watch out for a possible Sepia state or post partum depression, in view of the additional stress on the mom. If too much blood loss occurs followed by exhaustion in spite of blood transfusion, China would be the indicated remedy. Much more we cannot tell yet since everything if anything will happen after the C-section. Just keep in mind that homeopathy has wonderful remedies to not only prevent infection and speedy healing, but for any other complications from failure to urinate post operative to pain to difficulties in nursing...I hope the patient has a good homeopath available so any emergency could be assisted through homeopathy.

Warm regards
Dr Luc
