Frequency Consult with Homeopath

Question: Dear Dr. Luc - As a parent of an ASD child, could you please provide your feedback regarding homeopathic case management, specifically how often should the homeopath have phone consultations with their patients? This seems to vary from one homeopath to the next I.a.some homeopaths will have phone consultations every 6-8 weeks while other homeopaths say it is driven by the patient's needs. Besides a follow-up phone consultation, how often should the homeopath and the patient be in contact with each other via email, etc,? Which of your books would educate a patient/parent on what signs to look for from a homeopath regarding good case management skills and follow-up? Any insight you could provide would be appreciated. Thank you.

Answer:
You are posing an excellent question. I can only speak for myself. While I can teach homeopathy to anyone, I cannot teach them to be dedicated, compassionate and understanding. When I have a first consult for an ASD child, I will not have a follow up (paid) for 4-5 weeks...but in mean time I ask to hear from them at least 2-3 times via email...the third day after the test dose is absolutely a must as to guide the patient. I do not hesitate to even request a daily email if I see that I must decide with the parent as when to redose. My patients know I am always available and everyday I spend 3 hours answering emails, Saturdays and Sundays included. know that if I would not do so, I would have lost many of these precious children that are now doing well. Often when an acute event (like this horrible flu of this year) occurs the chronic remedy needs to be suspended...all this is part of good management...all this is included in my first visit. A paid follow up every 5-6 weeks is important: words and conversations bring always much more out than emails. This is very different for DAN doctors or regular physicians (I don't think anyone of them is available any day and answers any day...just try!). Besides they are not dealing with specific treatment, specific for your child. Allopathy and DAN treatments are easy. I can teach you in 2 hours to be a DAN doctor but it will take you 5 years to know something about homeopathy. I have to thank my wife daily that she supports me in this hard work without complaining...very little time is left for us but we are both happy to be of service to children that deserve the best. A 4th edition homeopathic prescriber will not have this load of work...he waits and watches, often too long...and many don't want to do watery doses precisely of the work that it brings.

I promised myself to come back in my next life as an operette singer, the only thing I would want to be besides a physician. Right now only the shower is allowed for my singing performance.

May all the moms with ASD children never give up...they are my heroes.
